Xerxes Athletic began with my own journey. Before becoming a mother, I never questioned my body. Choosing clothes was effortless. I wore what I loved. I felt comfortable in my own skin.

Then I became a mom.

Motherhood gave me the greatest gift of my life—but it also changed me in ways I never expected. My body changed. I gained weight. I struggled with postpartum depression. Almost overnight, I felt like I had lost the woman I used to be.

Getting dressed became one of the hardest parts of my day.

Instead of choosing clothes because I loved them, I chose them to hide my body. I believed my body had become the problem. For nearly two years, I carried that feeling.

Until something changed.

I slowly realized that my body wasn’t my enemy. The real struggle was the relationship I had with it. The more I accepted myself, the lighter I felt.

Seeing women with different body shapes confidently wearing shorts, tank tops, and the clothes they loved reminded me that confidence isn’t about having the “perfect body.”

It’s about giving yourself permission to live. That realization changed everything. I started moving again. I danced. I exercised at home. I ran. Not because I hated my body… But because I finally appreciated it.

As my confidence grew, my body became stronger. The weight slowly came off. But the greatest transformation wasn’t physical. It happened in my mind. That’s when I realized I couldn’t be the only woman walking this path.

Millions of women go through seasons where they feel disconnected from themselves. Some after motherhood. Some after illness. Some after loss. Some simply because life changes us. And so many have stood in front of a closet wondering what feels good anymore.

That’s why I created Xerxes Athletic.
